UP Deputy CM Promises Union Meeting for Reservation Reform Protesters

UP Deputy CM Promises Union Meeting for Reservation Reform Protesters

Some students are protesting against the current reservation system.

They want education and government-job quotas to be based mainly on family income instead of caste.

The protest is taking place at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak met some student representatives.

He said he would share their demands with leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He also promised to help arrange a meeting with a Union minister within two days.

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav disagrees with the protesters.

He says reservations protect groups that have faced discrimination and should not be weakened.
