Belgachia Metro Sub-station Upgraded to 33 KV, Boosting Efficiency
Imagine the Metro's electricity system is like a water pipe.
The Belgachia station's old pipe has been replaced with a bigger one to carry more power, going from 11 to 33.
This helps the trains run better and reduces energy waste, like making sure all the water gets to where it needs to go without any leaks.
It's expected to save lots of money, and the upgrade was done without stopping the trains.
Soon, another station will get the same upgrade too!
Belgachia's 11 KV sub-station on the Blue Line has been upgraded to 33 KV.
The upgrade includes a new traction sub-station with gas insulated switch gear.
The upgrade aims to improve reliability and reduce distribution losses.
The project is estimated to save around Rs 350 crore.
