INS Kulish Visits Cambodia’s Ream Base to Deepen Naval Ties
An Indian Navy ship called INS Kulish visited a Cambodian naval base.
This was the first time an Indian Navy ship had called at Ream Naval Base.
Cambodian Navy representatives and Indian embassy officials welcomed the ship.
Sailors from both countries will meet, learn from one another and take part in sports.
They will also conduct planned naval activities together.
The goal is to build stronger connections between the two navies.
India said the visit is part of its wider maritime outreach in the Indo-Pacific.
It comes after India and Cambodia held a military exercise earlier in 2026.
Indian Navy ship INS Kulish arrived at Cambodia’s Ream Naval Base during the Eastern Fleet’s operational deployment.
The visit is the first port call by an Indian Navy ship at Ream Naval Base.
Indian and Cambodian personnel will participate in professional discussions, familiarisation visits, sports fixtures and naval engagements.
The Ministry of Defence said the visit supports India’s Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR vision and a free, open and inclusive maritime environment.
The visit follows CINBAX-II 2026, a two-week India-Cambodia military exercise that concluded on May 16.
