Supreme Court Scraps Army's Male-Only JAG Quota
The Supreme Court decided the army's legal jobs, called JAG, can't have rules that favor men over women.
Before, the army set aside different spots for men and women.
The court said this is against the idea of everyone being equal.
The army now must choose people for legal jobs based on who is best, regardless of gender.
This happened because the court said the policy was against the constitution.
Supreme Court struck down the Indian Army's JAG recruitment policy.
The policy reserved more seats for male candidates.
The court deemed the policy a violation of equality.
The court stated there should be no gender-based vacancy allocation.
JAG is the legal agency for legal matters in the army.
