Indian Stock Market Falls: IT and FMCG Stocks Drag Indices Down
The Indian stock market went down on Thursday.
The Sensex and Nifty50, which are like the report cards for how well stocks are doing, both dropped.
This happened because some big tech companies and companies that make everyday goods didn't do as well.
The market was also a little worried about how much things cost.
One company, IEX, also had a big drop after a government decision.
Indian stock market benchmarks, Sensex and Nifty50, declined on Thursday.
The Sensex fell 542.47 points (0.66%) to close at 82,184.17.
The Nifty50 dropped 157.80 points (0.63%), settling at 25,062.10.
IT and FMCG stocks led the decline, with IT index falling 1.84%.
Shares of Indian Energy Exchanges (IEX) fell 28% following a regulatory decision.
