Revised GRAP Tightens Vehicle Restrictions Across Delhi NCR
Delhi and nearby areas have a new plan for dealing with bad air.
The plan has 48 actions divided into four stages.
Drivers must have a valid pollution certificate, or they could be fined ₹10,000 and refused fuel.
From November 1, some older-standard petrol and diesel vehicles registered outside Delhi cannot enter the city.
During Stage III, certain petrol and diesel cars face driving restrictions in Delhi and some nearby districts.
Breaking those car restrictions can lead to a ₹20,000 fine.
Parking charges will go up for most vehicles, but electric vehicles will not pay the added charge.
The plan also brings some restrictions into effect sooner and removes exemptions for certain goods vehicles.
The revised GRAP sets out 48 actions across four stages and brings some measures into force earlier.
Drivers without a valid Pollution Under Control certificate can face a ₹10,000 fine, and fuel stations are directed not to serve them.
From November 1, non-BS-VI petrol and diesel vehicles registered outside Delhi will be barred from entering the city.
Under Stage III, BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel private cars face restrictions in Delhi and specified NCR districts; violations can draw a ₹20,000 penalty.
The plan doubles parking charges for most vehicles, exempts electric vehicles from the additional charge, and removes some goods-vehicle exemptions.
