Erratic Power Supply Worries Paddy Farmers in Kamareddy

Farmers in five villages said frequent power cuts were making it hard to water their paddy fields.

They worried because their crops were at an important growing stage.

The farmers said they had already complained to electricity officials, but the problem continued.

On Saturday, they gathered on a highway to protest, briefly affecting traffic.

Police intervened to keep the main highway from being blocked.

The farmers then held a sit-in and shouted slogans against the electricity department.

Officials from TGDDCL promised to fix technical problems and restore power.

After that promise, the farmers ended their protest.
