FDA Cancels Shivnath Ayurveda's Licence After ANiS Complaint

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Nashik, Maharashtra, has permanently cancelled the manufacturing licence of Shivnath Ayurveda Product Company.

This decision came after the Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (ANiS) filed a complaint against the company's owner, Dr. Mohan Puri, alleging illegal drug manufacturing and quackery.

The FDA inspected the company's facility in Jaigaon and found serious violations of pharmaceutical standards and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

After a hearing, the FDA decided to permanently cancel the company's licence.

Dr. Puri is also alleged to be associated with Rajendra Gadge Baba, a self-styled godman, and is suspected of supplying unapproved medicines.
