TMP Threatens Solo TTAADC Election Fight
The Tipra Motha Party (TMP) in Tripura is upset because the Tiprasa Accord, which was supposed to help the indigenous people, is not being implemented.
The party's leader, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, said that if the accord is not followed, they will fight the next election alone.
He also said that the choice of script for the Kokborok language, which is spoken by many tribal communities, is an internal matter and should not be dictated by others.
The leader also expressed concern about the situation in Bangladesh and said that the Indian government should have a clear policy for the Northeast region.
The TMP had signed an agreement with the central and state governments in March 2024 for the development of indigenous people.
In the last election in 2021, the TMP won against the BJP, which is now an ally of the TMP.
TMP chief warns of solo fight in TTAADC elections if Tiprasa Accord is not implemented.
Debbarma accuses state leaders of opposing the Accord's implementation.
TMP insists on the Kokborok script being an internal matter for the Tiprasa people.
Concerns raised about Bangladesh's turmoil and its impact on the Northeast.
