Delhi to Draft SOP for Faster Power Outage Response
The Delhi government is creating a special plan called an SOP to help fix power outages faster.
This plan is being made because there have been big power outages in the past, like one in August 2023 that affected many areas in north Delhi.
A group of experts will work on this plan and make sure it includes steps to prevent future outages and improve how quickly power can be restored.
They will also work on better ways to communicate during outages.
The plan will be reviewed by a committee that oversees the power network in Delhi.
Delhi government is drafting an SOP to respond faster to major power outages.
Previous outages, including one in August 2023 affecting 8 lakh consumers, highlighted the need for this SOP.
An expert committee will develop the SOP within one month, focusing on technical, operational, and communication aspects.
The SOP aims to prevent future outages, ensure fast restoration, and enhance the reliability of Delhi's power system.
The Delhi Operation Coordination Committee (OCC) supervises the power network and will review the SOP before implementation.
