NTA Debunks AI-Generated NEET OMR Claim
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has said that a viral OMR answer sheet from the NEET-UG 2026 re-exam is fake and was made using AI.
They found that the sheet shared online was not the real one but a changed version of the candidate's actual sheet.
The NTA said the real sheet was used to give the result, and the fake one had mistakes that AI or scanning software can make.
They also said no other student's sheet was mixed up with the candidate's.
The NTA has warned against using fake documents and might take legal action if needed.
The candidate's score remains unchanged at 337 marks.
NTA rejected claims of OMR sheet mix-up in NEET-UG 2026 re-exam, stating the viral sheet was AI-generated and fake.
Forensic examination found the circulated OMR sheet had identical barcodes, booklet numbers, and marking patterns to the genuine sheet but with altered identity fields.
The NTA confirmed the result was based on the candidate's original OMR sheet, which was evaluated through the prescribed process.
The fake OMR sheet had multiple technical and typographical errors consistent with AI or OCR-based document regeneration.
The NTA has warned against submitting fake or AI-generated documents and may take legal action if warranted.
