UPSC to Allow Scribe Changes, Screen-Readers for Visually Impaired
The Supreme Court of India told the UPSC to make some changes to help visually impaired people take exams.
They said that candidates can now change their scribes up to seven days before the exam.
The court also asked the UPSC to come up with a plan to use screen-reader software for visually impaired candidates.
This software will help them read the questions on a computer.
The court wants the UPSC to work with other government departments to make sure these changes are made quickly and fairly.
They also said that the UPSC should make sure that all candidates have equal opportunities and that the exams are fair for everyone.
The court will check on the progress in February next year.
