Centre Makes 25-Day LPG Refill Gap Uniform Nationwide
The government changed how soon people can book another cooking-gas cylinder.
Everyone in cities and villages can now book a refill after 25 days.
Rural customers previously had to wait 45 days.
Urban customers had a 25-day interval under the earlier rules.
The government introduced these different waiting periods when a Middle East conflict put pressure on LPG supplies.
Officials say LPG supplies have improved since then.
They also say fewer refill orders are waiting to be processed.
Three state-run LPG companies must follow the new rule immediately.
The change means rural and urban customers now have the same booking schedule.
The government has ordered a uniform 25-day gap between domestic LPG refill bookings across urban and rural areas.
Rural consumers can now book refills after 25 days instead of the earlier 45-day interval.
The Petroleum Ministry said LPG supplies have improved and refill backlogs have declined considerably.
The earlier booking restrictions were introduced as temporary demand-management measures after the Middle East conflict in February 2026.
Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited must implement the change immediately.
