Inktober 2026 Launches With Daily Drawing Prompts Worldwide
Inktober is a drawing challenge that lasts for the month of October.
People make one ink drawing each day based on a daily word.
The first prompt for 2026 is “Apple.”
Artists can draw with pens or use digital drawing apps.
They can share their pictures on websites such as Instagram, Facebook, and Reddit.
The challenge was started by Jake Parker in 2009.
Its main goal is to help people practice drawing and build a regular creative habit.
Missing a day or making an imperfect drawing does not mean someone has failed.
Inktober 2026 has begun, inviting artists to create and share ink-based artwork throughout October.
Artist Jake Parker created Inktober as a personal challenge in 2009.
The official 2026 prompt list assigns a new theme for each day, beginning with “Apple.”
Participants may use traditional ink, pencil under-drawings, or digital tools such as Procreate.
Artists can share their work online using the hashtags #inktober and #inktober2026.
