IndiGo Faces Massive Flight Cancellations
IndiGo, a big airline in India, has been having a lot of problems lately.
They've had to cancel hundreds of flights because of new rules about how long pilots can work, some technical issues, and bad weather.
The government's aviation safety team, called DGCA, is now closely watching IndiGo to make sure things improve.
Many passengers have been upset, and some even had to find other ways to travel, like one dad who drove 800 km overnight so his son wouldn't miss an important exam.
IndiGo has said they're sorry and are trying to fix the problems, but it's been a tough time for everyone involved.
IndiGo cancelled 60 flights from Bengaluru on December 11, 2025, adding to over 500 cancellations since December 2.
DGCA has stationed an oversight team at IndiGo's headquarters to monitor operations and crew deployment.
IndiGo's Chairman Vikram Mehta apologized for the disruptions, attributing them to new pilot duty norms, technical glitches, and weather issues.
Passengers have expressed frustration, with some receiving snack bags as apologies for delays.
A Haryana father drove 800 km overnight to ensure his son reached Indore for exams after their IndiGo flight was cancelled.
