US C-17 Lands in Moscow, Mission Remains Unclear

A large US military transport plane flew from Latvia to Moscow.

It landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport in the morning.

Flight trackers identified it as a C-17 Globemaster III.

The plane had earlier traveled from the United States to Riga, and one report said it stopped in Charleston.

People do not know who or what was on board.

The Kremlin said it had no information about the flight.

US authorities also did not publicly explain it.

Some people guessed it might involve diplomacy, moving personnel or a prisoner exchange.

There is no proof for those guesses, so the mission remains unknown.
