Trump Launches $6.6 Billion Maryland Shipyard Project

The United States plans to build a large new shipyard in Maryland.

It will be called Arsenal-2 and will be built at Sparrows Point.

Anduril Industries plans to invest $3.7 billion in the project.

The US Navy may provide up to $2.9 billion, depending on production outcomes.

The site will first make parts for Virginia-class submarines.

It is also expected to make autonomous underwater vessels later.

The administration says the project will create thousands of jobs.

Trump and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said the project is part of an effort to increase American shipbuilding and defence manufacturing.
