Rhodes Hopes South Africa End Drought at 2027 World Cup

Rhodes Hopes South Africa End Drought at 2027 World Cup

Jonty Rhodes used to play cricket for South Africa.

He is also famous for being an amazing fielder.

He hopes South Africa will win the Cricket World Cup in 2027.

That year, the World Cup will be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.

Rhodes said playing at home is special because the fans are so friendly and supportive.

South Africa has never won a big one-day trophy, and Rhodes wants to change that.

He also said that 50-over cricket is still loved by fans even though T20 cricket is very popular.

Long ago, in 1993, Rhodes caught five balls in one match, which was a world record.

He says fielding has gotten much better since then.

Today, teams cannot hide even one weak fielder.
