Hockey Players to Get Monthly Allowance from Government
The government will give a monthly allowance to hockey players in the national camp.
This means they'll get extra money on top of their regular jobs and tournament winnings.
Hockey India asked for this, and the government agreed.
About 80 players will get Rs 25,000 each month.
The money comes from the government and is similar to what some other athletes get.
The government also wants to find new talent by looking at videos of young athletes on social media.
Sports Ministry approves Rs 25,000 monthly allowance for 80 hockey players.
The allowance is for players in the national camp (men's and women's teams).
The decision followed a request from Hockey India.
