J&K FDA Bans 10 Ghee Batches, Orders Immediate Market Withdrawal

Food officials in Jammu and Kashmir tested several batches of ghee.

They said 10 batches did not meet required safety and quality rules.

The tests found signs of vegetable fat and other unusual results.

Ghee is supposed to be made only from milk or milk products.

Officials have stopped the affected batches from being sold, stored or distributed.

Shops and suppliers must remove them and report their remaining stock within 48 hours.

Teams will check markets to help prevent the products from circulating.

Businesses can ask an approved referral laboratory to test the samples again, while shoppers should check labels and batch numbers.
