Haryana's New Compensation Policy for High-Voltage Tower Bases
The Haryana government has made a new rule to pay landowners more money if big electricity towers are built on their land.
This rule says how much money farmers and landowners will get if their crops are damaged or if the value of their land goes down because of these towers.
The government will pay 200% of the land's value for the area where the tower stands.
They will also pay different amounts depending on where the land is—like more in cities and less in villages.
The money will be sent directly to the landowner's bank account after a government officer checks and confirms the details.
This new rule is for all big electricity lines in Haryana, even the ones that are being built right now.
Haryana government issued a new policy for compensating landowners affected by high-voltage transmission lines.
Compensation includes payments for crop damage at three stages: tower foundation casting, tower erection, and conductor stringing.
Land value reduction compensation is 200% of the determined land value for the tower base area.
Right of Way (RoW) compensation varies by land type: 30% in rural areas, 60% in municipal corporations, and 45% in municipalities.
Payments are made directly to landowners' bank accounts after certification by a Patwari or senior Revenue Department officer.
