Manush Shah, Diya Chitale Win Historic Asian Games Bronze
Manush Shah and Diya Chitale won a bronze medal for India in mixed doubles table tennis.
They first beat a strong pair from Hong Kong in the quarterfinals.
This guaranteed that India would win a table tennis medal at these Asian Games.
In the semifinal, they played China’s Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha.
The Chinese pair won all four games.
Even though India lost that match, Shah and Chitale still received the bronze medal.
This was only India’s second mixed doubles table tennis medal at the Asian Games.
Other Indian players had both wins and early losses in their events.

The Indian pair reached the mixed doubles semifinals after defeating Hong Kong’s Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem 3-1.

The medal is India’s second Asian Games mixed doubles table tennis medal after the 2018 bronze won by Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra.
