Madras High Court Restrains Media From Airing Veeramani Case Videos

The Madras High Court stopped news and social media platforms from sharing videos and recordings connected to a serious child-abuse case.

The court said sharing this material could hurt the children involved and interfere with the investigation.

It also warned that false information should not be spread.

A police team investigating the case must give the public an official update every week.

Authorities were told to try to remove material that is already online.

R Veeramani and two associates were arrested after the investigation found seven more alleged survivors.

The case began after police received a pen drive containing an alleged abuse video in 2025.

In a separate case, the DMK says some political figures spread false statements connecting the party to the matter and is seeking damages and removal of the posts.
