Dakota Johnson as Marilyn Monroe in Flesh Impact

Dakota Johnson is starring as Marilyn Monroe in a new short film called 'Flesh Impact'.

The film is directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and will premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September.

It's made to celebrate what would have been Marilyn Monroe's 100th birthday.

The film shows two different stages of Monroe's life, with Johnson playing the iconic star and Ellen Burstyn playing an imagined older version of Monroe.

The film has the approval of Monroe's estate and is produced by the car brand Genesis.

Maggie Gyllenhaal talked about how she initially questioned if she was the right person to tell Monroe's story but decided to go ahead with it.

She also mentioned that Dakota Johnson was always in her mind while writing the film.
