Assam Orders Unhindered Ambulance Passage During VIP Convoy Movements

Assam Orders Unhindered Ambulance Passage During VIP Convoy Movements

The Assam government told officials that ambulances must never be stopped for VIP convoys.

This order came after police stopped an ambulance in Silchar.

The ambulance was carrying a 42-year-old patient named Rasaraj Chakraborty.

He later died while being treated at a hospital.

The hospital and his family said the traffic delay did not cause his death.

They said he had cirrhosis, which was a chronic illness.

The government also said fire trucks and police emergency vehicles must be allowed through.

Officials were told to keep the Chief Minister's convoy as short as security requirements allow.
