NE States to Co-host 2027 National Games
The National Games, a big sports event, are coming to the North East in 2027!
Instead of just one state hosting, all eight states will share the job.
Everyone at the meeting agreed this is a great idea because it brings the states together and shows off how good they are at sports.
They're planning more meetings to make sure everything runs smoothly.
The 39th National Games in 2027 are proposed to be co-hosted by all eight North Eastern states.
The proposal received unanimous support from sports ministers and officials during a meeting in Shillong.
Meghalaya was initially slated to host the games alone.
The multi-state hosting model aims to promote regional cooperation and showcase North East's sporting potential.
Participants agreed to meet again to finalize logistical and operational details.
