Congress Gains Majority in Manmul Board; VP Election Halted
Imagine a milk company in a place called Mandya is run by a group of people.
These people are chosen in an election.
Two big groups, like political parties, are fighting for control: Congress and JD(S).
Congress got more people elected to the board, and they picked Shivakumar to be the head.
But, the election for the second-in-command got stopped because the other party, JD(S), went to court.
This is because they think one of the people running for the job shouldn't have been allowed to.
So, even though Congress seems to have won, the court needs to make a final decision before everything is official.
Congress-backed Shivakumar was elected unopposed as president of Manmul.
The vice president election was halted due to a JD(S) challenge in court.
The election was for 12 director posts, with Congress winning six.
Two JD(S) rebels pledged support to Congress, increasing their alignment to eight.
The final result is pending the court's decision on a case regarding the election.
