Punjab Health Minister Warns Drug Units on Quality Standards
The health minister of Punjab is telling all the companies that make medicine in his state to be very careful.
He wants them to make sure their medicines are safe and good quality, just like the World Health Organization wants.
This is because some cough syrup made somewhere else made children very sick.
The minister said that the companies need to test the ingredients before they start making the medicine and test the finished medicine after they are done.
He wants to make sure that no bad medicine gets made in Punjab.
He also said that the government in Punjab cares a lot about keeping people healthy and safe.
Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh has warned drug manufacturers in the state to uphold strict quality and safety standards.
The warning comes in the wake of a cough syrup incident in Madhya Pradesh.
Manufacturers are instructed to conduct rigorous testing of raw materials and finished products.
The minister stressed the importance of these measures for public safety, especially for children.
While Punjab has not reported similar cases, increased vigilance is mandated.
