JNPA Starts Double-Stack DFC Operations To Speed Cargo Evacuation

JNPA Starts Double-Stack DFC Operations To Speed Cargo Evacuation

JNPA is a major port in Navi Mumbai.

It has started using special trains that can carry stacked containers over long distances.

The first train carried 360 containers of imported goods.

It left the port at 7 p.m.

on August 21 and was heading to CGMV.

The cargo came through the BMCT terminal.

JNPA says these trains can move more goods at once.

This could help containers leave the port faster and reach inland destinations sooner.

The authority also expects the system to make cargo deliveries more predictable.
