Aditya Birla Group Bets ₹1,800 Crore on UltraVolt Wires
Aditya Birla Group is starting a new business called UltraVolt.
It will make wires, cables and conduits used in homes, buildings and power projects.
The group plans to invest ₹1,800 crore in the business.
UltraVolt will begin production at a facility in Gujarat and sell products across India.
It wants to reach more than 100,000 retailers.
The company hopes to become one of India’s two biggest wires and cables businesses within five years.
It plans to use the group’s metals expertise, construction network and access to copper and aluminium.
The market is growing because of new homes, power projects, renewable energy and data centres.
However, companies such as Polycab India, KEI Industries and Havells India already compete in the sector.
Aditya Birla Group has entered India’s wires and cables market through UltraTech Cement with a ₹1,800-crore investment.
The new UltraVolt business will initially manufacture wires, cables and conduits at a Gujarat facility.
UltraVolt plans to reach more than 500 districts, 6,000 pin codes and over 100,000 retailers across India.
The business aims to become one of India’s top two wires and cables players within five years.
India’s approximately ₹1 trillion market is projected to grow by 11–13% annually through fiscal 2030, but organized competition is already strong.
