Committee Seeks Dhar Rail Project Inclusion in National Plan
A group of people who care about trains in Madhya Pradesh, India, asked the government to include a special train project in their big plan for train development.
This project, called the Chhota Udaipur-Dhar rail project, was supposed to be finished a long time ago but is still not done.
The group wants the government to help finish the remaining parts of the train track so that it can connect important places and help people in the area.
They want it to be ready by the year 2028, which is when a big event called Ujjain Simhastha will happen.
The train project is important because it will help people in tribal areas and connect them to bigger cities like Vadodara and Mumbai.
A memorandum was submitted to Union Minister of State Savitri requesting the inclusion of the Chhota Udaipur-Dhar rail project in the National Rail Development Plan.
The Indore-Dahod and Chhota Udaipur-Dhar Rail Project Committee met the Minister on Friday, with President Pawan Jain Gangwal leading the request.
The project was approved in 2008 for completion by 2011 but is now 15 years behind schedule.
The Indore-Dahod project spans 205 km, with 125 km nearly completed, and 80 km from Dhar to Jhabua remains incomplete, including three tunnels.
The Chhota Udaipur-Dhar project spans 145 km, with 102 km almost completed, and 43 km from Dhar Tirla to Tanda Road is pending.
