Maharashtra’s food safety agency inspected restaurants and other food businesses in Mumbai.

It suspended the licences of 10 places because inspectors found problems with cleanliness, food storage and safety records.

Some of the places included canteens at J J Hospital.

In a separate statewide drive, officials seized prohibited food products and three vehicles.

The total value of those seized goods and vehicles was ₹1.09 crore.

The action led to 13 arrests and 12 police cases.

Officials also checked food and drinks they suspected might be poor quality, adulterated or labelled incorrectly.

That separate stock was valued at ₹1.39 crore.
