Karnataka MLA Demands Separate State for North Karnataka
A lawmaker named Bharamgouda Kage from the Congress party in Karnataka, India, is asking for North Karnataka to become a separate state.
He says the region is not getting enough attention or money for projects.
He mentioned that while Rs 16 crore was given for a water project in Kadur taluk, his area, Kagwad taluka, did not get similar funding.
He has written to the President and Prime Minister about this.
Some members from the opposition party, BJP, supported his demand.
Kage says he will keep fighting for this, even if others oppose it.
Congress MLA Bharamgouda Kage demands separate statehood for 15 districts in North Karnataka.
He cited administrative convenience and holistic development as reasons for the demand.
Kage highlighted discrimination in funding, comparing Rs 16 crore for Kadur taluk to no similar allocation for Kagwad taluka.
BJP members in the opposition applauded his demand, stating he was speaking the truth courageously.
