Lok Sabha Suspends MP Kalyan Banerjee for Remarks
The Lok Sabha, which is like the main meeting place for India's lawmakers, has suspended a member named Kalyan Banerjee for the rest of their current meeting session.
This is because some other members said he made hurtful comments about women members.
The decision was made after a vote, and Banerjee had to leave the meeting.
Before this, Banerjee had a heated argument with some other members who used to be in his party but are now supporting the ruling government.
The session is set to end on August 13.
Lok Sabha suspended Trinamul Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee for the rest of the Monsoon session.
The suspension follows alleged distasteful remarks against women members of the House.
The decision was made by a resolution moved in the House and adopted by voice vote.
Banerjee was involved in a heated exchange with members of the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI).
The NCPI members met with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to raise the issue.
