Trump Administration Plans Denaturalization Efforts
The Trump administration is planning to increase the number of cases where naturalized Americans might lose their citizenship.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will send 100-200 denaturalization cases each month to the Office of Immigration Litigation.
This plan is part of their efforts to strip some naturalized Americans of their citizenship.
The guidance for this plan was obtained by The New York Times.
Between 2017 and 2023, there were only 120 denaturalization cases filed.
There are about 26 million naturalized Americans in the country, and more than 800,000 new citizens were sworn in last year.
