Maharashtra Raises PUC Charges, Diesel Vehicles Face Highest Fee

Maharashtra Raises PUC Charges, Diesel Vehicles Face Highest Fee

Maharashtra has increased the fees people pay for vehicle pollution tests.

These tests are needed to receive a Pollution Under Control certificate.

Two-wheelers will now pay ₹60.

Petrol three-wheelers will pay ₹120, while petrol, CNG and LPG vehicles will pay ₹140.

Diesel vehicles have the highest fee, at ₹180.

The Transport Department reviewed the charges after a request from PUC centre owners.

A court had directed the government to decide on the issue within four months.

Some motorists say the higher fees add to their growing vehicle expenses.
