Asteroid 2025 QD8 Makes Close, Safe Flyby of Earth
Imagine a small space rock, called Asteroid 2025 QD8, is going to zip very close to Earth.
It will be like the asteroid is waving hello!
This close encounter is happening on September 3rd, and NASA says the asteroid won't hit us, so no need to worry.
It's a chance for scientists to take a closer look because it's passing by so near.
The asteroid is about 71 feet wide and moving super fast.
Scientists will use telescopes to watch it.
It's not the last time this asteroid will visit; it will be back, but not this close until 2121.
Asteroid 2025 QD8 will have a close flyby of Earth on September 3.
The asteroid will pass within 218,000 kilometers of Earth.
NASA confirms the asteroid poses no threat.
The flyby offers an opportunity to study the asteroid up close.
The Virtual Telescope Project 2.0 will livestream the event.
