Hyderabad Race Club Tests Show Most Horses Negative for Glanders
The Hyderabad Race Club tested 582 horses for a disease called glanders.
Most of the horses, 581, tested negative.
A few horses need more tests because the disease can take a long time to show up.
The club has already found 11 horses with the disease since November and had to put down 2 of them.
Racing is still stopped until the government says it's safe.
Other race clubs in India, like in Bangalore and Mysore, have also found some horses with the disease.
The club hopes to start racing again soon if the government gives permission.
581 out of 582 horses tested negative for glanders in the latest round at Hyderabad Race Club.
Five horses require repeat sampling due to the disease's long incubation period.
Racing activities remain suspended until clearance from the Telangana government.
A total of 11 horses have tested positive since November, with 2 euthanized.
Similar glanders cases have been reported at other race clubs in India.
