Prague's St. Vitus Cathedral to Receive New Organ
A new organ is being put into the St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague.
This is a very old and important building in Czechia.
The organ has many pipes, ranging in size.
It was built in Spain and is now being put together in the cathedral.
The public will be able to hear the organ in June next year.
The project was started after the previous organ was too small and broke down frequently.
The cathedral is linked to Czech history, and the new organ will be a significant addition.
A new organ is being installed at Prague's St. Vitus Cathedral, a 700-year-old landmark.
The organ, with approximately 6,000 pipes, is nearing completion with expected finishing in late August.
The new organ will be heard publicly for the first time on June 15 next year.
The four-manual instrument was constructed in Spain by Gerhard Grenzing's workshop.
The project began in 2017, funded largely by a crowdfunding campaign that raised over 109 million Czech koruna.
