India and China Reach Eight-Point Border Management Consensus

India and China Reach Eight-Point Border Management Consensus

India and China have agreed on eight points about their shared boundary.

They want to continue talks about where the boundary should be drawn.

They also want to improve how the border is managed.

Both sides said they will use an agreement signed in 2005 to guide the negotiations.

They will also consider understandings reached during later SR Talks.

The countries said they are seeking a solution that is fair to both sides.

They described the desired outcome as reasonable and mutually acceptable.

The statement did not provide details of each of the eight points.
