India Launches Organised Crime Network Database
India has launched a new database called the Organised Crime Network Database (OCND).
This database helps police and investigation agencies track criminals who are involved in organised crime and have links to terror groups.
The database is powered by AI and can quickly provide information about criminals, including their fingerprints and voice data.
This will help the police catch criminals more easily.
The database was launched by Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, at an anti-terror conference.
It was developed with the help of state police forces and another organisation called NATGRID.
The goal is to make sure that criminals cannot hide by moving from one state to another.
India launched its first national-level Organised Crime Network Database (OCND) to track organised criminals and terror links.
The database is AI-powered and provides real-time data sharing, including FIRs, charge sheets, and dossiers from all states.
Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, inaugurated the OCND at the Anti-Terror Conference-2025 organized by the NIA.
The OCND integrates voice matching and fingerprint data to assist investigation agencies in quick action against criminals.
The database aims to strengthen coordination among state police forces and curb organised crime that fuels violence and terror financing.
