Gabbard Denies Russia's Capability to Conquer Ukraine
Tulsi Gabbard, who is the Director of National Intelligence in the US, said that Russia does not have the ability to take over Ukraine or invade Europe.
She made this statement on social media.
She also accused some people in the government and the media of trying to stop the peace efforts that the US President Donald Trump's administration is leading to end the war in Ukraine, which has been going on for nearly four years.
Some reports had said that the US intelligence community supports the views of the European Union and NATO, which claim that Russia wants to invade or conquer Europe.
But Gabbard said that this is not true.
Putin's special envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, supported Gabbard's comments, praising her for challenging war-driven narratives.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed skepticism about proposed peace talks that would place Ukraine and Russia at the same negotiating table.
