Presidency University Astrophysics School Receives 20 Lakh Donation
A former student from Presidency University, who is now a professor at IIT-Bombay, gave a large gift of money to the university.
This money, about 20 lakh rupees, will go to the School of Astrophysics.
It will be used to build offices for students who are studying for their PhDs, to help students go on internships and conferences, and to buy equipment for the labs.
The School of Astrophysics is a new part of the university, and this donation will help it grow and offer better programs.
It also continues Presidency's long history with astronomy, which dates back to the early 1900s.
An IIT-Bombay professor and Presidency University alumnus donated Rs 20 lakh to the School of Astrophysics.
The donation aims to support academic programs and improve infrastructure.
Around Rs 10 lakh will be used for PhD student office spaces.
The remaining funds will go to an endowment for student internships, conference participation, and lab equipment.
