Roger Binny Likely to Remain BCCI President Till September
Roger Binny, the head of India's cricket board (BCCI), is likely to stay in his job longer.
A new sports law allows leaders to work until they're 75.
Binny recently turned 70, which normally would mean he has to leave.
However, the new law might let him stay until the board's meeting in September.
The BCCI will now be under this new sports law, but people cannot use the Right to Information Act to get information from the board.
Roger Binny is expected to remain BCCI President until the Annual General Meeting in September.
The National Sports Bill, passed on Tuesday, allows sports federation officials to hold posts until age 75.
Binny turned 70 last month, which would have triggered the BCCI's age-limit clause.
The BCCI will fall under the purview of the National Sports Bill.
The Right To Information (RTI) Act won't apply to the BCCI.
