Ganesh Chaturthi and Hartalika Teej Coincide on September 14, 2026
Two important Hindu festivals will happen on the same day in 2026.
Ganesh Chaturthi celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha.
Hartalika Teej remembers Goddess Parvati’s devotion to Lord Shiva.
They fall together because two Hindu calendar dates, called tithis, overlap on September 14.
During Ganesh Chaturthi, people bring Ganesha idols home or to public pandals.
They pray, offer modaks, flowers, and durva grass, and join processions.
During Hartalika Teej, many women fast, wear traditional clothes and jewellery, and apply mehendi.
They pray for family happiness, their husbands’ wellbeing, or a suitable life partner.
The two festivals will make September 14 especially significant for many devotees.
Ganesh Chaturthi and Hartalika Teej will both be observed on September 14, 2026.
The festivals coincide because the Hindu calendar places Tritiya and Chaturthi tithis on the same date.
Ganesh Chaturthi celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha with prayers, offerings, idols, and processions.
Hartalika Teej honors Goddess Parvati’s penance to marry Lord Shiva and is traditionally marked by fasting.
