Mizoram Launches Drive to Enrol Voters Missing From Rolls
Mizoram has started a drive to help eligible people whose names are missing from the voter list.
The drive follows a review of the state’s electoral rolls.
Officials say the final list contains 835,869 registered voters.
Booth Level Officers will compare the new list with the one used before the review.
They will visit homes to find out what happened to people whose names are missing.
If someone is eligible, officers can help them apply to be added using Form 6.
The officers will also help first-time and young eligible voters.
Camps will be organised to make it easier to submit applications.
The work is expected to take about a month.
Mizoram launched a special drive Thursday to identify eligible voters missing from the electoral rolls and help them enrol.
The final electoral rolls were published on September 7 after the state completed its Special Intensive Revision.
The rolls list 835,869 registered voters, including 432,689 women, 403,179 men and one third-gender elector.
Booth Level Officers will compare current and pre-revision rolls, visit households and help eligible people apply using Form 6.
Officials are to aim for at least 20–25 electors per week, with the exercise expected to take approximately one month.
