TET Exemption Plea for 2005–09 Tribal Teachers Reaches Supreme Court

TET Exemption Plea for 2005–09 Tribal Teachers Reaches Supreme Court

A group representing tribal welfare teachers has asked the Supreme Court for help.

The group wants teachers hired between 2005 and 2009 to be excused from taking the current Teacher Eligibility Test.

It says those teachers followed the rules that existed when they were hired.

The petition was filed on August 30.

The case is waiting for its next hearing.

Meanwhile, teachers protested in Delhi.

About 5,000 teachers from Madhya Pradesh reportedly attended.

They said the protest could grow into a nationwide movement if their demands are not addressed.
