Alumnus Detained at HCU; Students Test Positive for Ganja
The EAGLE Team is a special group of police officers.
They went to a big university in Hyderabad called the University of Hyderabad.
They had heard that some students might be using a drug called ganja.
Ganja is a plant-based drug that is against the law.
Police caught a student who said he had bought 10 grams of ganja for Rs 500 from a friend.
They also caught a man named Biswajit Kalita who used to study at the university.
He is accused of bringing ganja from a faraway place called Assam and selling it to students.
Police tested about two dozen students to see if they had used ganja.
The article gives two different numbers for how many students tested positive — 17 in one part and 2 in another.
Police are asking more questions to learn how the ganja got from Assam to Hyderabad.
The EAGLE Team conducted raids at the University of Hyderabad (HCU) and detained Biswajit Kalita (28), an actor trainer and former student accused of bringing ganja from Assam and selling it to students.
The case was registered on August 7 after police received information that Bhukya Sai Sandesh, a second-year M Tech Computer Science student, was allegedly consuming ganja and was apprehended around 7.30 pm.
Sandesh allegedly told police he had bought 10 grams of dry ganja for Rs 500 from a friend identified as Biswa and had concealed it in his hostel room.
One article internally contradicts itself: the introduction says 17 students tested positive, while the body says 2 of about two dozen tested students tested positive.
