Telangana's Proposed Generational Education Policy Draws Expert Scrutiny

Telangana’s government is preparing a new education policy.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said it would consider children from Gen Z, Gen Alpha and Gen Beta.

These names describe groups of people born around certain periods.

Experts say the names do not prove that all children in a group learn in the same way.

They believe education should consider children’s development, language, family circumstances and different abilities.

They also say schools should use evidence about what teaching methods work.

Some experts point to Greek education, which focuses on creating thoughtful people and active citizens.

A Jawaharlal Nehru University professor said education should respond to new knowledge rather than to generation labels.
