Bhupalapally Mines Official Remanded Over Disproportionate Assets Case

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested a mines official named Bojja Jaya Raju.

Investigators said he may have assets worth more than his known income.

They estimated the suspected disproportionate assets at about Rs.3.06 crore.

Courts sent him to judicial custody.

Officials searched eight places connected to him, his relatives and associates.

Investigators also examined the phone and bank transactions of his driver, Sattunuri Yadaiah.

They found that about Rs.24.80 lakh moved from the driver’s account to Jaya Raju’s daughter’s account.

The driver allegedly said the money came from people involved in sand transportation and related activities.

The investigation is continuing to determine where the money came from and why it was transferred.
